Bathroom Renovations
Designing Your Dream Bathroom with Utah Home Repairs
Making selections for a bathroom remodel is an exciting process! The bathroom is where we start and end each day, and a thoughtful refresh can add significant value to your home—both functionally and aesthetically.
While the industry standard for a full bathroom renovation is typically 8–12 weeks, at Utah Home Repairs, we emphasize detailed pre-construction planning to ensure a smooth and efficient build. Our typical construction timeline ranges from just 2–4 weeks.
Below is a breakdown of what you can expect when designing your dream bathroom with a UHR expert:
1. Layout & Floor Plan
- Footprint: Decide whether you want to keep the current layout or explore changes to walls or space usage.
- Fixture Placement: Choose the best locations for your sink, shower, bath, and toilet to suit both your lifestyle and design vision.
2. Flooring & Paint
- Flooring Options (listed from most budget-friendly to premium):
- Laminate
- Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)
- Engineered Hardwood
- Solid Hardwood
- Tile
- Paint Colors: Once flooring is selected, choose complementary paint tones to bring the space together.
3. Electrical & Plumbing Fixtures
- Outlets & Lighting: Determine how many outlets you need and where they should go. Consider accent, task, and ambient lighting types.
- Plumbing Fixtures: Select your bathtub, shower surround, toilet, sink(s), and faucets—taking into account style, size, features, and finishes.
4. Cabinet Design
- Style & Finish: Choose from styles like Shaker, raised panel, or flat panel. Decide between painted or stained finishes to match your vision.
- Baseboards: Keep in mind that replacing cabinets may require removal and reinstallation of existing baseboards.
- Hardware: Select knobs or handles in finishes like brushed nickel, matte black, brass, or oil-rubbed bronze.
5. Countertops & Backsplash
- Countertop Materials:
- Quartz – Low maintenance, durable, not as heat-resistant.
- Granite or Quartzite – Natural stone with excellent heat resistance; requires periodic sealing.
- Backsplash Options:
- Continue your countertop material up the wall.
- Go with a traditional 4" backsplash.
- Create a bold statement with a full-height backsplash or waterfall edge.
- Edge Profiles: Popular styles include Eased, Beveled, Ogee, Bullnose, Half Bullnose, or a custom profile for a truly personalized touch.
